With the provincial election campaign kicking off today, there are 226 people, so far, who have announced their intention to seek a seat in the Saskatchewan Legislature, across the 61 ridings of the province. So far, just the two incumbent parties, the Saskatchewan Party and the NDP, have full slates of candidates nominated by the party. The Green Pary has 59 candidates listed so far as well.
The Saskatchewan United Party has 23 candidates listed for the election, the Buffalo Party has 11, and the Progressive Conservatives nine. There is one independent candidate so far, and one candidate for the Saskatchewan Progress Party.
