Kelly Nelon, who died in a tragic plane crash in June, was recognized a week ago at a ceremony in Tennessee.

Autumn Nelon Streetman, her daughter, and only surviving member of The Nelon's, accepted the award on behalf of her mother.

"I love you, Mom," said Autumn as she posted about her mother's recognition on Facebook. "So well deserved.

Kelly was born into a gospel family with her Hall of Fame father, Rex Nelon and The LeFevres. She recorded her first song when she was 13 and began her full-time singing career at 16.

Kelly and the Nelons were inducted into the GMA Hall of Fame in 2016. She was also inducted into the GMA Hall of Fame with the LeFevres. This is her first time being recognized by the Southern Gospel Hall of Fame.
