Mama's Greek Kouzina held its grand opening celebrations over the weekend.
The event began on Saturday (Sept. 28) with a selection of snacks and a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside Mayor Pat Fule. The event ran all day, even into their evening service.
"It went well," said Eleni Dellios, co-owner of the restaurant. "It was also during the Strathmore Third Avenue After Dark market, which brought many people to the grand opening. Everyone that dined with us in the evening also got complimentary cupcakes."
The restaurant has been open in Strathmore since June 25, serving traditional Greek food as it quickly became a staple of the town's cuisine.

"The first two months were the busiest times we've ever seen, so to throw a grand opening in there would be chaotic," added Dellios. "It was the summertime, too, so a lot of people were on vacation. We knew we would have a better turnout once people were back in town."
With around 150 cupcakes to give out, only a dozen remained by the end of the event.
"We're seeing a lot of weekly customers, which is great. We also see new faces every day," mentioned Dellios.
The day before the grand opening was the restaurant's monthly Greek Night, which featured belly dancing and around 100 guests dining throughout the evening.
