The Vault Cultural Collective, an art gallery based out of Strathmore, announced the winners of its annual People's Choice Art Competition.
The winners were announced in the vault on Saturday (Sept. 28), with cake and lemonade for the young winners, who also went home with a cash prize.
"I had done the contest last year, and when I saw it on Instagram that they were doing it again, I decided I wanted to join," said 13-year-old Luba Piche, the winner of the teenager's category.
Piche's piece featured a watercolour rendition of the Joyland Theatre, located in downtown Strathmore.
"My grandparents used to own the theatre before they sold it, so I wanted to do something that kind of showed what my family has been a part of before."
For winning the competition, Piche was awarded with $50. The winning art pieces were also returned to the original artists.
"I was excited to hear that I won, and I was proud of myself," added Piche.
Submissions for the contest were accepted in early September, with residents visiting the vault able to vote on which pieces they liked the most. This was the second year that the Vault had hosted the contest.
