'Third Avenue After Dark' kicked off in downtown Strathmore on Saturday (Sept. 28).

Third Avenue was closed off to vehicles as dozens of vendors from across the area set up booths to sell a variety of items, from freeze-dried foods to t-shirts.

Dana Goldstein was one of the vendors, a Calgary-based author who was selling her books to local readers.

"The traffic has been amazing. There are a lot of people wandering up and down Third Avenue. There's a lot more people than I thought there would be," said Goldstein. "I love meeting people and readers because you never know who is going to be your next superfan."

Goldstein has been writing since 2018, publishing three memoirs and a few middle school novels.

Other vendors included Paisley Bemoche, an 11-year-old girl selling bracelets and soap for a good cause through her 'Paisleys Pretties' booth.

"I've been fundraising for Parachutes for Pets. They have animals and they help feed them," said Bemoche, who first started selling her products to raise money for a new pony.

Bemoche was also selling custom-made bath salts with unique names such as 'unicorn poop'.

"It's been pretty good here so far, I've had a fair bit of customers," added Bemoche. "I've also been to Kinsmen Park and Lil' Hoots before."

Other booths included candles, essential oils, and a large array of food trucks. There was also live music provided by the local group Sounds Impressive Music Productions.
