A team of firefighters from Drumheller were in Kamloops taking part in several Firefit competitions.
According to the Drumheller Fire & Rescue Facebook page, the Canadian Nationals and World Firefit competitions both happened over the weekend, which brought in over 190 competitors from seven countries to take part.
"Kyle Smith, Mitch Smith, Jeff Gerlinger, Merv Smith, Duane Bolin, and Keith Hodgson represented Drumheller well. Competition was tough, especially for our younger members, with most of the competitors being full-time firefighters," wrote Drumheller Fire & Rescue.
In team events, Bolin, Merv, and Hodgson won gold in the Over 50 Team Relay, with Bolin and Merv also winning gold in the Over 50 Tech 2 Relay.
Individually, Bolin won a gold medal in the Over 60 Class, and Hodgson won silver in the Over 65 Class.
Another bronze medal was won between Merv, Bolin, Gerlinger, and Hodgson in the Over 40 Team Aggregate category.
"We’d also like to recognize the awesome effort of Devan Boos from the Hanna Fire Department who was the Fastest Volunteer and the 3rd place Canadian overall with a time of 1:19.66," added Drumheller Fire & Rescue.
Firefit began back in 1994, with the popularity of the competition only growing since the event began.
