Wheatland County has made some changes to its electoral divisions.
There are seven divisions in the county, each with a councillor elected to represent them in county council meetings.
The new boundaries will be used in the upcoming 2025 municipal election.
Division 1 contains the area within the county north of Siksika Nation, south of Township Roads 240 and 250, between Township Roads 252 and 254; east of Highway 1 and Range Road 231, and west of Highways 56, 840, and 842.
The division also includes Cluny and Gleichen.
Division 2 is located north of Highway 901, south of Highway 564, east of Range Roads 250 and 253, and west of Highway 1 and Range Road 231.
The communities of Eagle Lake and Namaka are also included in Division 2.
Division 3 contains the area south of Highway 22X and Highway 901, which includes Goldfinch Industrial, Carseland, and Speargrass.
Division 4 includes the area north of Highway 22X and Highway 901, south of Township Road 244, and west of Range Road 250. This area also includes Origin Business Park and Cheadle.
Division 5 is now located north of Township Road 244 and west of Range Road 253 and incorporates Lyalta and Ardenode.
Division 6 is north of the formal railway right-of-way between Rosebud and Drumheller, east of Range Road 253, and west of Highway 840.
The division also includes Redland, Rosebud, and Nightingale.
Division 7 is north of Township Roads 230, 240, and 250, east of Highways 56, 840, and 842, and south of the former railway right-of-way between Rosebud and Drumheller. This also includes the hamlet of Chancellor.
With Strathmore having its own town council, it is not considered a part of Wheatland County's electoral divisions.
