Len grew up in the Grunthal area, working on the farm with his dad. This is where Len grew his love for tractors, the bush and hunting. Len married the love of his life Kathie on August 16, 1980. Len worked most of his career for Manitoba Hydro operating various equipment during this time. Len did take a 2 year break and moved his family to British Columbia to attend Bible School. After his retirement from Hydro Len and Kathie took their Class 1 license and began driving team for six years with Ruby Transport. They considered this a paid vacation, because they got to spend time together exploring North America. When Len wasn't driving truck he could be found riding bike, or hiding in the bush cutting wood or hunting.
