October is Disability Employment Awareness Month.
The Fort St. John Association for Community Living takes pride in helping individuals with disabilities secure meaningful employment in the community. By networking with local businesses, providing on-the-job support, and offering employers job-ready candidates, they help address the ongoing workforce shortage.
This month serves as a special opportunity to highlight the unique work they do, celebrate their partner businesses and organizations, and raise awareness to further expand this important program.
Tomorrow Wednesday October 9th starting at 12:30pm there will be a DEAM awareness walk.
It will start at the FSJACL current office at 10251 100th Ave.
They invite anyone in the community to join their participants and staff to attend this walk which will include signs communicating the significance of employing those with disabilities.
