A Halloween costume exchange is arriving in Strathmore for families on a budget.

The event will be held on Saturday (Oct. 12) from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the library.

"It's just a great opportunity for families to save some money and reuse those costumes. As kids are growing out of their costumes, they can be really expensive," said Laura Henderson, public services manager with the library. "It's just a way for families to acquire a costume without having to go and spend at the store."

Kids and adults can drop off old costumes at the library in exchange for new ones, and those without an outfit can purchase one for a monetary donation at no minimum cost.

According to Henderson, they're also looking for adults who are able to donate their old costumes, as they tend to hold onto them for a long period.

"We don't want anybody to be left out of something that is so much fun," added Henderson.

The library is accepting Halloween costume donations until Saturday, with around 350 of them already available, with sizes ranging from baby to adult.
