After a long illness Antonio peacefully passed at home. We grieve the loss of our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Tony was predeceased by his parents Francesco Cianflone and Maria Scarpino. His sister Concetta, his brother Giuseppe. Left to cherish his loving memory are his wife Lise, his son Raymond Cianflone (Trish) his son Tony Jr. (Becky) and grandchildren Shawn (Taylor), Chad, Rachel, AJ, and Lily. He also leaves to mourn his sister Maria Rimedio (Torino, Italy) as well as in laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Tony had a great will to live, loved life, he left a mark on every heart he met. He gave it his all and gave back to all those he encountered. He had a passion for life and especially for his grandchildren. In his hometown dialect of Calabria, the grandkids called him “Nannu” and with his accent he had many “Nannurisms”
Tony immigrated to Canada on October 4, 1969, at the age of 19, leaving his family behind not knowing a word of English. He was sponsored by his uncle and aunt in Winnipeg for the first 5 years of life in Canada. He landed in Winnipeg on a Friday and had a job by the Monday.
He was a hard worker, proud of his handiwork. He started his own business in 1988, Tony Drywall and Paint . His motto was, “from the hands of the hands of the masters” and never once was he unemployed. His business took him mainly in Pembina Valley & area. In 2010 Tony was forced into retirement due to health issues .
His true passions were hunting, fishing, and gardening, for the love of which he transferred to both sons and to his grandchildren. He so loved the wall of fame.
The basement walls were plastered with pictures of the best catches the best moments, where every trophy was hung with pride. And everyone loved to have their pictures mounted on the famous wall.
