It is with saddened hearts that the family of Mr. Shawn Gordon Wilson passed away on July 15, 2024 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, Saskatchewan at the age of 64 years old. At Shawn’s request there was no funeral service.
Shawn was born on July 28, 1959 in Guelph, Ontario to Ted and Violet Wilson. Shawn attended school at Bracebridge, Ontario. On July 27, 1984, Shawn and Sharon Bender were married at the Church of God in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Shawn worked in the oilfield industry in the Swift Current area for 37 years, he also worked as a volunteer for various events.
Shawn had many special interests and hobbies. Shawn enjoyed sports- hockey, baseball, curling, football and rodeos just to name a few. He always enjoyed cheering for his favorite players. Shawn also enjoyed doing some home renovations and he always made time to enjoy coffee with his friends. Shawn also enjoyed a few family trips with his wife and children.
Shawn was a family man; a good husband, and a great father. He was a good friend with a kind heart and always willing to lend a helping hand to those who had a need. Shawn will be missed by his family and friends.
Shawn is survived by his wife Sharon, children; Christopher and Riley, brothers; Mark Wilson, Andy Wilson, brothers and sister in laws; Joan and Dwayne Assen, Elwood and Sandra Biech, David and Chris Bender and Mike Bender and many nieces and nephews. Shawn is predeceased by his parents, Ted and Violet Wilson, sister Debbie, nephew John Wilson and grandparents. Shawn will be deeply missed by many.
