Dozens of inmates, many serving life sentences, lined up to be baptized at a recent event hosted by God Behind Bars at Angola State Prison in Louisiana.

Over 1,000 inmates attended the event, making it one of the largest prison events in the ministry's history.

"We invited the ENTIRE STATE to join so that all the incarcerated can hear about the FREEDOM of Jesus," said God Behind Bars in a post on Instagram. " 9 prisons were bused in — including a female prison."

Over 300 incarcerated men and women gave their lives to Jesus, with over 50 inmates being baptized on the spot.

"These inmates were prayed over, loved and the Holy Spirit fell on this prison," said God Behind Bars. "All you could hear was the sounds of hundreds worshipping, praying, crying, and rejoicing!"

The ministry went on to feed every single person at the event. They also gave each inmate soap and socks. They were also treated to performances by Lauren Daigle and Ben Fuller.

"Every one of them heard the gospel. Every person heard that Jesus loves them, died for them and that there is HOPE! We are still overcome by what God did. You could feel the Holy Spirit inside of this prison! REVIVAL IN ANGOLA!!"
