Sixteen drivers from the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie Swan City, the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie, After Five, and Edson will take part in the eight-day, 5,500-kilometer journey to deliver these essential vehicles, which will be distributed to fire departments, nonprofit groups, and hospitals.

This annual project, now in its 22nd year, has delivered 125 vehicles so far, with eight more in this year's convoy. Valued at roughly $2 million, the donation includes firefighting gear and ambulance equipment.

The Highway to Mexico project has also played a key role in establishing fire departments in smaller towns around Mazatlán, where fire protection relies on volunteers.

Local businesses and municipalities have generously provided vehicles and gear, with Rotary clubs covering travel and fuel costs while the drivers volunteer their time.
