When Forrest Frank originally wrote his chart-topping song, 'Good Day,' he never knew how relevant the message of God's presence and support would be in his own life.

The 29-year-old Texas native said in an interview with The Christian Post, "Three days after that song came out, I went through the hardest trial of my life. It was really interesting that God would give me a song that says, ‘I'm about to have a good day no matter what trial is going on,’ and then I had the hardest trial of my life … someone wronged me and stole something from me that I was never going to get back."

Going through that situation really forced him to put his faith into action. "The Bible says to 'cast your anxieties on the Lord and through prayer and thanksgiving, and peace which surpasses all knowledge will guard our hearts.' I got to witness that firsthand as I went through the hardest day of my life. I just released that baggage to Jesus, and now I'm having a good day. He doesn't promise us a good day, but He promises us peace when we surrender to Him.”

Frank, who originally broke into the music world in 2017 as half of the group Surfaces was then ranked as the top new artist on the Billboard Christian Charts. Seven years later, he won the New Artist of the Year Award at the GMA Dove Awards. 'Good Day' won the Dove for Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year.

As he accepted the award, he gave all the credit back to God. "I feel so undeserving of this award. I actually was curious if I was even gonna come to an award show for Christian music because it’s all for Him. Everything I do is for the Lord."

While Frank is living his dream, he doesn't take it for granted. "For whatever reason, He’s chosen to give me some songs that have related to some people. If He shuts it off and doesn’t give me any more songs, that’s cool. If He continues to bless it, that’s great. I want to continue to give Jesus glory. My name will fade away just like all of ours one day, but at the end of time and for all of eternity, one name will remain: Jesus Christ.”

Despite 'Good Day' resonating with people across the world, he admits he almost didn't put it out. “I make a song, like, every day, and it was just one of the songs I made. I sent it to a friend, and he was like, ‘Yeah, this is not it. This is not good.’ So, I was like, ‘You know what? Maybe I won’t release it.’”

The track immediately went viral online as audiences were inspired by its uplifting message, something that he never saw coming. "The fact that anybody would listen to something that I make and say, ‘that's good,’ is shocking to me. Anything beyond that is all just a bonus. So the fact that I'm here is beyond me. I think God wants it that way, so I just give Him all glory for this. He's orchestrating my path.”

This isn't the first time he has seen success. His album Child of God, reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart in August. Some of his other tracks have been streamed millions of times. His success has led to opportunities to collaborate with other CCM artists such as Elevation, Maverick City Music, Lecrae, and others.

As he is writing, he wants the Holy Spirit to be in the music. "As long as I'm putting the truth of the Gospel in the songs, and if I can recognize the Holy Spirit in the music, then I know that He's going to be doing the work because I don't put any pressure on it."

No matter how much success he gets, he says his plan is to keep making Christian music. "Jesus is my Saviour, and I'm alive when I worship Him. Once I started making Christian music and worshiping Him, going back to making pop music is like air. There's no substance in it for me personally. The fact that I get to wake up every day and worship Jesus and then just record it, and other people get to worship Jesus, too, it is so fulfilling and so life-giving, and I'm here to stay.”
