Gleichen RCMP officer charged for perjury, breach of trust

An officer with Gleichen RCMP has been charged with perjury and breach of trust.

According to a police news release, RCMP began investigating Constable Anthony Jacobs in October of 2023 for his conduct while on duty.

The 40-year-old officer has been suspended with pay and was released from custody on an undertaking. According to police, he has been working as a member of the RCMP for nine years.

He has a court date at the Siksika Nation Court of Justice on December 12.

The conduct that led to the charges was not released.
