The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce presents Small Business Week, October 20th to 26th!

Tessa Masi and Lindsey Banman of the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce invite one and all to join with their community to celebrate the local businesses that have made Steinbach a thriving commercial hub.

“We want to bring awareness to all the small businesses,” Masi elaborates. “We want to encourage people to buy local, and we just want to celebrate them- we have so many entrepreneurs that are running small businesses here, and that is enough to warrant a celebration!”

Part of this weeklong event is the 2024 Economic Outlook Breakfast with Arnaud Franco, the Director of Economic Research at BDC and a seasoned public speaker.

“He’s going to share about the four key trends that will shape your business over the next five years, and the strategies to navigate them successfully,” Masi adds. “This is valuable information, and a big deal for our Small Business Week.”

Whether you’re a longtime member of the Steinbach’s business community or are just starting out, this is a valuable opportunity to learn something new. Attendants will discover how to face rising financial costs, evolving consumer needs, labor shortages, and technological disruptions. The goal is for productivity and effectiveness to be enhanced through practical tools that the local business owner can easily apply to their everyday work.

The 2024 Economic Outlook Breakfast happens Tuesday, October 22nd from 8:00am to 10:00am at the Mennonite Heritage Museum summer pavilion. Space is limited, and registration is required. Anyone interested is welcome to sign up- click here to access the Steinbach Chamber events page.

The week will also include the 2024 Steinbach Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards on Thursday, October 24th at Friedensfeld Community Centre.

“We’re celebrating our business community and our nonprofit community,” Banman says. “We’ve had this event running for the last number of years, and it’s just really exciting to have an evening of celebrating what they’re doing in our community.”

The evening begins at 5:00pm with networking, wine, and appetizers, followed by the State of the City Address by Mayor Earl Funk, an address from Chamber President Tracy Gromniski, and, of course, award presentations.

“We have small, medium, and large businesses, and we want to celebrate all of those businesses together.”
