Thanksgiving is just around the corner.
StrathmoreNow asked residents to share some unique food they eat over the holidays. There were a variety of answers, including the all-famous turkey and even Chinese food.
One resident, Shayne Richardson, wrote about his turkey buffalo cheese dip.
"Ground turkey cooked, then added to 1/4 cup of buffalo sauce. Get the meat all wet with the sauce, then add a stick of cream cheese and stir until melted and mixed. Pour into a pie plate and add grated cheese on top," wrote Richardson.
Other unique recipes include turducken, which consists of a deboned chicken inside of a boneless duck, which is then stuffed inside of a turkey. It is also known as a three-bird roast. Sometimes the duck is replaced with a goose.
Another resident, Joanne Radtke, wrote about her ichiban salad, a crunchy blend of ramen noodles, toasted almonds, tangy dressing, and coleslaw.
Thanksgiving is held on Monday (Oct. 14) and is celebrated over a month before its American counterpart.
