Cooler weather has arrived for Thanksgiving in southeastern Manitoba.

Environment Canada is calling for a low of –3 for Sunday night with a wind chill of –6.

Thanksgiving Monday will start with a mix of sun and cloud, then the sky will clear for the afternoon and the temperature will reach 9 degrees.

Another clear sky on Monday night with a low of –5.

Our Thanksgiving weekend five years ago involved a lot of snow with winter storm warning that went in effect for the Southeast. Parts of Manitoba were hit with 50 millimeters of rain, while other areas received up to 20 centimeters of snow.

There's no significant rainfall expected this week, and no snow in the forecast.

Warmer weather will follow with sunshine, reaching 20C by Thursday.

The following rainfall totals are for Saturday, October 12th and are courtesy of Environment Canada and the Manitoba Ag Weather Network:

Steinbach – 8.9mm

Richer - 9.0 mm

St. Pierre - 11.6 mm

St. Adolphe - 8.2 mm
