Kevin Sorbo, who portrayed Hercules in the 90s TV show and more recently the lead in God's Not Dead franchise, is sharing his unshakable faith in Jesus.

"In later teenage years in my 20s, I did a lot of stupid things," said Sorbo in an interview CBN News. "But I never went away from my faith. I never had that crisis where I didn’t believe in God or believe in Jesus."

The actor grew up near Lake Minnetonka, in a small town about 25 km outside of Minneapolis, MN, with Christian parents.

"My mom’s still alive at 92. My father passed 12 years ago. My best friend, he’s the best man at my wedding. My dad, I miss him every day."

Life-Changing Encounter

When Sorbo was the influential age of 13 he had a chance meeting with Billy Graham that had an impact on his faith journey.

"When I was 13, we took a field trip to the St. Paul fairgrounds with the Rev. Billy Graham. It was a hot August night. There [were], like, 300,000 people there outside. It was amazing — full moon was out and Billy Graham’s, like, incredible, even though he’s a mile away on the stage."

Even though there was a sea of people, Graham ended up approaching young Sorbo.

"I turned around and it was Billy Graham," Sorbo said. "And he had his security guys with him, of course. But his head was perfectly behind the full moon. It’s like these rays coming out of his head. And I got goosebumps."

Later on after Sorbo's career took off, he ended up working with Graham's publicist on a Chicken Soup story, and is good friends with Graham's son Franklin.

Evident in his role in the Christian films, the God's Not Dead franchise, his place in Hollywood hasn't deterred Sorbo from sharing his faith.
