It was a fast turnaround both in terms of time and performance for the Humboldt Broncos this past weekend as they split their home and home against the Battlefords North Stars.
On Friday in the away game, the Broncos fell short in an 8-6 loss. Jacob Strizzi, Gabreil Fillion and Josh Sale all pocketed a pair on the Broncos side, but the North Stars took advantage of defensive gaps when they had to.
It was a different story on Saturday when the Broncos came back strong delivered a 9-3 walloping. It was all Broncos in the opening period with four straight goals and another 3 in the second. Jacob Strizzi put in another two-goal night, as did Boris Kofman and Kye Benoche. Goaltender Edouard Gauthier had a better night, turning aside 36 of 39.
This Saturday, the Broncos meet the La Ronge Ice Wolves for the first time at home this season. Catch the play call on 107.5 Bolt FM at 7 pm.
