A section of highway was closed in Foothills County on Sunday (Oct. 13) after a collision with a moose.
According to RCMP Media Relation, a minivan struck the moose on Highway 22 north of Longview just after 8 p.m.
The vehicle was totalled, with the driver being transported to Foothills Medical Centre with injuries.
The moose did not survive the impact.
Police closed a section of Highway 22 between Highways 546 and 541 in both directions for several hours.
