Unity, Macklin Wilke RCMP responded to various calls the week of October 1-7.

In Unity, RCMP responded to various incidents, including intoxication aboard a VIA Rail train, two assault investigations, a fraud complaint, and a Mental Health Act case. Officers also handled several traffic complaints, false alarms, and a false 911 call.

In Wilkie, RCMP dealt with a vehicle collision involving a moose, multiple trespassing complaints, and the recovery of stolen vehicles. A man from Sherwood Park, Alberta, was charged with failing to comply with a release and probation order. 

In Macklin, RCMP recovered a stolen truck and resolved a fuel theft incident when the suspect returned to pay. Officers also addressed a mental health concern.

Unity RCMP Reports:

  • An intoxicated individual aboard a VIA Rail train was taken into custody until sober.
  • Officers were requested to assist in keeping the peace while an individual retrieved personal belongings from a residence.
  • A fraud complaint remains under investigation.
  • A complaint of trespassing was found to be unfounded.
  • Police are investigating a complaint of assault.
  • A disturbing the peace complaint lacked sufficient evidence to proceed.
  • A second assault complaint is under investigation.
  • Officers are investigating a theft report.
  • A Mental Health Act complaint led to the individual being transported to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment.
  • CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction in Unity.
  • Four traffic complaints, two false alarms, and one false 911 call were also reported.

Wilkie RCMP Reports:

  • A vehicle collided with a moose, resulting in no injuries. The incident was reported for insurance purposes.
  • A report of a deceased moose near the highway was forwarded to the Department of Highways.
  • Officers responded to a Mental Health Act complaint and spoke to the individual involved.
  • Trespassing complaints resulted in a verbal warning in one case, while another remains under investigation.
  • A 31-year-old male from Sherwood Park, Alberta, was charged with failing to comply with a release order and probation order after being reported as a suspicious individual in a rural area.
  • A stolen truck was recovered near Cut Knife, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
  • Officers responded to a report of suspicious vehicles in a rural area. One vehicle was gone upon arrival, but the second, stolen from Kindersley, was recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
  • One traffic complaint and one false alarm were also reported.

Macklin RCMP Reports:

  • A stolen truck was recovered in Macklin on the same day it was reported stolen, with insufficient evidence to proceed.
  • A theft of fuel from a local gas station was resolved when the individual returned to pay for the fuel, and no charges were laid.
  • Officers spoke to an individual regarding a mental health concern.
  • One traffic complaint was reported.
