A Strathmore group will transform the Ag Grounds into a Christmas party once again this year for the annual Celebration of Lights.
Joanne Selgensen, chairman of the organization says the event is run entirely by volunteers.
According to Selgensen, the annual display is nearing almost two decades of festivities in the community.
"We have people come from all over Canada, from overseas, from the United States, and they are just amazed at what we can do with a small town," added Selgensen.
The gates open on Saturday (Nov. 30) at 6:15 p.m. followed by speeches and a countdown to when the lights are turned on at once.
Fireworks will be popping up on opening night and there will be a kid's party on New Year's Eve.
There is also food, and a Christmas Village filled with mini houses, figurines, and other small items.
The village will be revamped with over 30 houses, as over 100 items were brought in to help expand the area.
Selgensen mentioned she couldn't even begin to guess the number of lights that help make up the event.
"I always tell people if you really want to get the feeling come and volunteer and then you understand."
Selgensen has been volunteering with the event for seven years and says she gets a special feeling inside when she sees everyone gathering for some Christmas cheer.
"We have Santa Claus there Friday and Saturday nights and the kids are just wild. Everybody is so happy."
The Celebration of Lights runs until January 1.
