The Vita Minor Baseball Committee is excited to host a community bonfire this weekend.
Treasurer Amber Martens explains why they decided to host this event.
“We just felt like with summer being such a busy season for everyone and getting back to school routine, we thought it would be nice to have everybody come and gather together and just show our appreciation to our community as well as all those volunteers and parents who help us along the way throughout the season.”
She shares that it takes a lot of people to make the baseball season run smoothly each year.
“We are so appreciative of every person that is involved and every player that comes and joins every year as well.”
Attendees can expect a bonfire and Perk Coffee Bar among other activities.
“We're going to have complementary coffee for everybody who joins, and we also have a local family who is going to be coming and selling some pumpkins. So if you haven't gotten those yet, you can pick yourself up a pumpkin. And then we also have some fresh baked ‘Bake World’ cookies coming in.”
She says there is a playground in the area as well.
“It still gives the children a place to play and adults some time to sit down and visit, perhaps meet some new family members that have just moved into the area as well.”
Martens says it will be a great opportunity for new families to come and learn about Vita Minor Baseball and how they can get involved next year.
“It's just so important to have community get together as well. So, it's just nice to have that bridge gap between our community and recreational sports.”
A local has volunteered to take photos throughout the evening and the family photo booth will be complementary.
She explains that the evening is geared towards saying thank you to the Vita Minor Baseball supporters.
“We are very, very excited to have everybody gather together.”
The bonfire will take place on Saturday, October 19 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Vita rest area and the whole community is invited!
