The True North Society is looking for donations to help people in need.
Amanda Vanderlaan, the administrative assistant and public educator with the society mentioned a few of the main items they need for children.
"We're really struggling to keep up with things like diapers, baby wipes, Vaseline, diaper rash cream, warm clothes for infants and youth, and even things like rattles and pacifiers. As we see inflation increase there is more of a need for services."
According to Vanderlaan, True North provides a vital resource to the community.
"We are a domestic violence shelter and resources for the Strathmore area. We are rooted in Strathmore, but we serve over 15 of our surrounding communities. Our emergency shelter outreach services areĀ for individuals who need support but don't necessarily need to stay in the shelter. We have public education and community programs as well."
True North has seen a rise in the number of residents using their services, especially with youth.
Local businesses around Strathmore and Wheatland County will have drop-off locations where people can leave items including right here at 104.5 More Country.
