The colourful lights and music of the CPKC Holiday Train are heading back to southern Alberta.
The closest stop to Strathmore that the train will make is in Gleichen.
The festivities will run on December 8 from 8:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on 3 Avenue and Crowfoot Steel.
Tyler Shaw and Shawnee Kish will play a free show inside the train during the event.
According to CPKC, the train will tour across Canada and the United States starting November 21 and will run until December 20 to raise funds, food, and awareness to support food banks across both countries.
"CPKC donates to the local food bank at each stop and encourages all attendees to make a monetary or heart-healthy food donation," wrote the organization on its website.
Since 1999, the event has generated more than $24.3 million and collected around 5.3 million pounds of food for local food banks.
