Stephen and Alicia Olyniuk hosted their annual pumpkin carving event on Saturday, where everyone is invited to bring their family and friends out to carve pumpkins and enjoy some hot chocolate.

The event is completely free, with pumpkins, carving tools, and warm drinks provided.

Jen Siran (Sur-ren) has been carving pumpkins with her family at this event since 2022.

She says it’s a wonderful opportunity.

“I would never get around to carving pumpkins if it wasn't for this event that happens in town, and it's a great way to connect with neighbors and have fun memories.”

Siran says the family loves to find inspiration for new designs to carve every year.

“We've done this for three years in a row, It's kind of become a little bit of an October tradition, and it's always fun to go online and look at different options and challenge our creativity every year."

She shares that if you want a more perfected carving, you need the right tools.

“This year, I upped the ante and brought a drill, which made a tremendous difference on making corners and curves, so it was a lot of fun.”
