Mark your calendar for a fun Halloween event which will support local athletes planning to attend various competitions.
The Eastman Special Olympics is hosting their second annual Spooky Soirée on October 25th at the Friedensfeld Community Center, and it is raising money to send athletes to upcoming competitions, including the world championships.
Regional Coordinator Cathy Wiebe shared details about the event, saying, “Our Halloween soiree is on October 25th from 8:00 PM until 1:00 AM. The cost is $15 per person.”
The funds raised will support athletes like William, who is hoping to travel to Italy for the next world competition. Additionally, around 80 athletes will participate in the provincial games in June, and the soiree is an essential step in making sure they can attend.
Wiebe emphasized the importance of community support: “We need everybody to be part of our team.” The event promises to be a fun and inclusive gathering for families, with music and dancing for all ages. Last year’s event was a hit, with athletes and their families enjoying the dance floor together.
To attend, guests must purchase tickets in advance. Wiebe noted, “You need to give me a call at 204-999-5564 to get your tickets. We cannot have tickets purchased at the door.”
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to support local athletes while having a great time. Join the Halloween Soiree and help make a difference for the Eastman Special Olympics!
