Jennifer Fraser knows all about breaking a Guinness World Record, having won a few in the past with her dog Daiquiri.

However, Daiquiri is retiring and a special new furry friend named Chardonnay is taking over.

Fraser and Chardonnay attempted to break a record on Monday (Oct. 21) just outside of Strathmore High School.

The record was for the 10-hoop slalom. Chardonnay jumped down a row of five hoops, alternating from left to right.

"She wraps the last hoop and then she jumps them back," says Fraser.

Chardonnay is a two-year-old Australian Shepherd who has been training with Fraser over the last two years to take over for Daiquiri.

Fraser mentioned that once she gets a new puppy, she starts coaching them right away.

"I never stop training. Even with Daiquiri, at 10 years old he's still learning new tricks."

According to Fraser, she always tries to use positive reinforcement for her dogs.

"I make training lots of fun so that I'm not making them do it, they want to do it."

According to the Guinness World Records, the fastest 10-hoop slalom by a dog is 8.58 seconds set in 2016 by Stephen Bailey and his dog Neo in the United Kingdom.

Fraser added that it was a three-month process to gain approval to attempt the record.

Now that the event is done Fraser has to send in evidence including videos, pictures, timekeepers, and witness statements. In three months, she'll hear back if they officially broke the record.

Up next for Fraser and Chardonnay is a trip to Romania on Wednesday (Oct. 23) to compete in Romania's Got Talent.

She's previously appeared on Canada and America's Got Talent with Daiquiri.
