The City of Chestermere has provided an update on the construction work happening on Rainbow Road.
On Monday (Oct. 21) the city announced that the new intersection at South Shore Drive and Rainbow Road has officially opened.
"These improvements include significant enhancements designed to improve safety and optimize traffic flow at this busy crossing," wrote the city on its website.
However, the city added that the construction phase for the new Rainbow Road Bridge is still not complete.
On Tuesday the city announced utility construction on Chestermere Boulevard at Rainbow Road, which will lead to lane closures, speed reductions, and a detour.
"To ease the strain on the public, this project is being done in stages with the transition from Stage 1 to Stage 2 occurring on or after November 5, whereby the contractor will then start work on the northern half of the pipe crossing after completing the southern half," wrote the city.
Work on Chestermere Boulevard will begin on October 28 and last until November 16.
