The Macklin, Unity and Wilke police detachments responded to a variety of calls during the week of October 15-21

The Unity RCMP handled various incidents, including a loose dog, a railway crossing malfunction, a theft investigation, a wellbeing check, and an aggravated assault case. A report of burial site tampering was found to be unfounded.

In Wilkie, officers issued trespassing tickets, mediated a neighbour dispute, and are investigating a break and enter at an abandoned school. Other incidents included an intoxicated individual, a single-vehicle rollover, and a bull near the highway.

In Macklin, RCMP dealt with multiple Mental Health Act complaints, a child custody concern, theft, and an assault investigation.

UNITY REPORT

  • RCMP responded to a report of a loose dog in Unity. Officers located the animal and transported it to a local vet clinic, where it was later picked up by the owner.
  • CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction in Unity. This was noted for informational purposes.
  • Police are currently investigating a theft complaint.
  • RCMP conducted a wellbeing check at the request of a concerned family member.
  • A report regarding possible tampering with a burial site at the Unity Cemetery was found to be unfounded.
  • Officers are investigating a report of aggravated assault.
  • RCMP received a fraud complaint, but it was determined to be unfounded.
  • Members spoke with an individual regarding a civil matter.
  • A request was made to locate a missing person, but the individual was not found in the area.

WILKIE REPORT

  • RCMP received a complaint of trespassing. Tickets were issued to those involved.
  • Officers acted as mediators in a neighbour dispute.
  • A complaint of a break and enter at an abandoned school is under investigation.
  • Police responded to a report of an intoxicated individual at a business and transported the person to cells to sober up.
  • RCMP received a report of a bull near a highway in Wilkie. The animal's owner was notified and was retrieving it.
  • Officers are investigating a single-vehicle rollover.
  • A report of theft from a motor vehicle lacked sufficient evidence to proceed.
  • Police also responded to three traffic complaints and one false alarm.

MACKLIN REPORT

  • RCMP responded to a Mental Health Act complaint and spoke with the individual involved.
  • Officers spoke with an individual regarding a child custody concern.
  • Police responded to another Mental Health Act complaint and transported the individual to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment.
  • A separate Mental Health Act complaint was also addressed by speaking with the individual involved.
  • RCMP are investigating a complaint of theft.
  • A report of assault is currently under investigation.
