Holes discovered in the window of a Saskatchewan Party campaign office were not caused by gunfire, according to an update from the Regina Police Service (RPS).

On Tuesday morning, the Saskatchewan Party issued a news release claiming that two “bullet holes” had been found at the campaign office of Regina Northeast candidate Rahul Singh. Singh expressed concern over the incident, noting that his campaign had already experienced multiple signs being stolen.

“Our campaign has already had many signs stolen, but this goes well beyond that, putting our campaign volunteers in danger,” Singh said in the release. He also confirmed that the matter had been reported to the police, who were investigating.

The RPS provided an update later that day, confirming that officers had responded to a report of mischief at the office on Dewdney Avenue after receiving the call Monday evening. While the damages initially appeared to resemble bullet holes, police later determined that the damage was not caused by a firearm.

Both Saskatchewan Party Leader Scott Moe and Saskatchewan NDP Leader Carla Beck condemned the incident. Moe stated, "I spoke to Rahul this morning. I know he is troubled by this, but he will not be intimidated. He plans to continue his campaign efforts, meeting voters until election day."

Beck added, "No politician should ever be subjected to violence. My heart goes out to Mr. Singh, his volunteers, and the campaign staff, who are no doubt shaken by this act. I hope those responsible are brought to justice."

The RPS continues to investigate the incident as mischief. Anyone with information is urged to contact Regina Police or Crime Stoppers.
