Steinbach’s Warehouse Cycle Studio is teaming up with Skin Clinics and Smitty’s to put on a fundraiser for Southeast Cancer Support Services called Beauty, Bikes, and Bellinis for Cancer.

Warehouse Cycle Studio will be bringing all of their 18 bikes to the Smitty’s banquet room offering 35-minute spin classes. After the class, participants get a Bellini from Smitty's and a mini facial from Skin Clinics.

Jodi Unger, an instructor and co-owner of Warehouse Cycle Studio, says it’s a great opportunity if you have never joined a spin class.

“If you want to try spin for the first time, it's a short 35-minute class, so it's less intimidating than a 50-minute class.”

She says there will also be a chance to win prizes.

“We have amazing prizes that we are getting from Skin Clinics and from some of our community partners, so it should be a really fun time.”

Unger shares how the three organizations ended up working together to create this fundraiser.

“We have done a few community events in the past at Warehouse, and we did one in June with Smitty's, and Skin Clinics approached us to say, ‘this would be a really fun thing we'd like to be a part of.’”

And so, they got into communication with Jennifer from Skin Clinics and decided which organization they would fundraise for.

“We knew that Cindy along with the Southeast Region has been starting this new organization, and because they are new, we wanted to bring some awareness to all of the things that they can offer. It felt like it was a good fit right from the start.”

Jennifer Hildebrand, Manager/Laser Technician with Skin Clinics, speaks on behalf of all the staff.

““We, at Skin Clinics, are especially excited because this event can involve an entire community who can rally and support those who are affected by cancer, along with their family and friends who surround them," she says. "As a Skin Clinics family, we feel passionate about being a part of something bigger and all feel it just really brings people together. It also gives us a better understanding of the gaps needed to be filled to better support those who are already struggling in their own unique circumstances.”

The fundraiser has already been so successful they have already added an extra spin class.

They have a special Honorary Survivor Mini Spin at 4:30pm which is for cancer survivors, or anyone participating in honor of a cancer patient to celebrate or honor their loved one.

Their other classes are at 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm in the Smitty's banquet hall.

“And let me tell you, if those fill up, we will do a 9pm class as well because we are very excited just to get people in the doors finding out about this charity. If we can add more classes, I mean Kaely at Smitty's jokingly said we can be there all night, so we're open to it. Let me tell you, if people want to come, we're going to stay.”

She notes everybody who's involved is volunteering their time.

“So whether that's my instructors, or my hype crew, or Skin Clinics who are providing the mini facials, that's all voluntary.”

Unger says it’s surprising how much support they have already gotten for this fundraiser.

“I mean the fact that we have already added a class, and we did that quite fast, it is surprising, but it speaks to the community that we live in. I am surprised, but on the other hand I am fully aware that we are very fortunate to live where we where we live with a very generous community.”

She says our community is very willing to rise up when they see a need.

“I think that we're very fortunate to live in the area we do, because we have a fabulous community that surrounds us, who really wants to help and take part.”

Smitty’s owner, Kaely Dyck says, “We love that we get to watch our guests through so many phases of their lives; and to us, that also means being there during the times where they need support. Bringing people together for the greater good of our community is very special, and we are honored to be a part of this event and the gathering place for occasions like this. As we know, it takes a community to be there for everyone, in all times.”

The fundraiser is on Wednesday, November 6th.

If you don’t know about Southeast Cancer Support Services, this is a great event to attend to get information and see all the amazing work that they are getting started in the Southeast region.

If you want to sign up, Warehouse Cycle Studio has an app where you can sign up for the event, or you can direct message them on Instagram, or call any of the participating organizations.

Unger notes if the classes are full and you want to participate, get in contact with them, and they will add another class.
