CO-OP' s Fill the Semi campaign continued this week, with the communities of Watson and Leroy stepping up.
On Tuesday in Watson, and on Friday in Leroy, Midway COOP hosted a smokie lunch with the proceeds going towards the Lanigan and Humboldt Food Banks.
The lunch in Leroy also helped out their local curling club.
Residents also had a chance to drop off non-perishable food items that were transported to the semi located at the CO-OP store in Humboldt.
Teaming up for Fill the Semi campaign are The Humboldt Co-op Muenster Co-op Grocery and Gas Bar, Lenore Lenore Co-op Grocery and Greenhouse, Midway Co-op, Conexus Credit Union (Humboldt), Affinity Credit Union (Humboldt), Prairie Centre Credit Union in LeRoy, and St. Gregor Credit Union.
Every 10,000 pounds of dry goods that are donated, the eight organizations will donate $10,000.
There is still time to drop off non-perishable food items at any of the eight locations taking part in the campaign; it ends on Thursday, October 31.
