The Kindersley Fire Department responded to a reported gas leak at the Kindersley Walmart yesterday afternoon, prompting a temporary evacuation of the store as a precautionary measure. The incident occurred at 3:47 p.m. when an odour, initially suspected to be a gas leak, was detected within the building.
Upon arrival, Kindersley Fire conducted a thorough investigation of the premises to locate the source of the smell. After examining the area, responders determined that the odour was not due to a natural gas leak but was instead caused by sewer gas.
Following this assessment, the fire department cleared the scene at 4:29 p.m., and Walmart management resumed normal operations shortly after. The swift response from the Kindersley Fire Department ensured the safety of customers and staff and allowed for minimal disruption to business.
The Kindersley Walmart is now operating as usual, and no injuries were reported.
