RCMP in Banff are searching for a suspect after a man with a knife chased two security guards overnight. 

Mounties responded to the report of a man armed with a knife displaying aggressive behavior at around 2:30 a.m. Monday. 

Police report two security guards were patrolling near the Banff Cascade Gardens when an aggressive man emerged from a wooded area.

Upon being informed that the individuals were security personnel, the suspect brandished a knife and demanded they "prove it" before chasing them.

Fortunately, both guards were able to escape without injury.

Despite extensive patrols, officers were not able to locate the suspect who is described as having a fair complexion. He's believed to be between 40-50 years old, is approximately 5'11" tall and was wearing a yellow jacket, cargo pants, a baseball cap, and a backpack.

Banff RCMP are urging the community to stay vigilant and help identify and locate this potentially dangerous individual. They are raising awareness about the incident and requesting assistance from the public in their efforts to find him.
