There are lots of events happening in Strathmore and the surrounding area this weekend.
Here's a list of a few events going on for residents to enjoy:
1. An Evening with the Stars
The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada will visit the Strathmore Municipal Library on Friday (Nov. 1).
The event features a presentation on the stars followed by astronomy-themed crafts, telescope viewing, and an indoor planetarium.
An Evening with the Stars is free to attend and runs from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
2. True North Gala
True North Society is hosting its annual charity gala on Saturday evening.
The event is themed after the Roaring 20s, with attendees encouraged to arrive dressed in centennial attire.
It will feature live entertainment, a gourmet dinner, and interactive displays showcasing the work the society does in the community.
Tickets are available on the society's website, and the event will run from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m.
3. Wheatland Wranglers Bottle Drive
The U15 Wheatland Wranglers girls' hockey team will host a bottle drive on Sunday.
The team will be set up outside of the Strathmore Family Centre at 1 p.m. for residents to stop by and drop their recyclables off.
Residents can also leave their bottles at the Strathmore Bottle Depot and say it's for the team.
Funds from the bottle drive will go toward the team's operating costs.
4. Sacred Heart's Fall Dinner and Auction Fundraiser
The Sacred Heart Church is hosting its 10th annual Fall Dinner and Auction Fundraiser on Saturday evening.
The event begins at 5 p.m. at the Strathmore Civic Centre and will feature entertainment, a dinner, and a live and silent auction.
