Ajara DIas and Jiyeong Lee or Morse risked their lives in an attempt to save their neighbour from a burning building.
For their heroism, the Royal Canadian Human Association awarded them silver medals for bravery.
On March 8th of this year, Lee and Dias were returning to Morse with family and saw smoke rising from a home in the area.
On their Facebook page the RCHA said that as others stood watching the fire, Jieyong called 911 and then went with Ajara to the front door to check on a 78-year-old man they knew was living in the home.
There was no answer and the door was jammed, but the couple could see he was on the other side of the door. They then worked together to push the door open only to be met with large flames and smoke.
Jieyong and Araja still bravely entered the home and found the man unconscious before dragging him out of the building and trying to revive him.
The RCHA post related that sadly the man was too badly injured and passed away. The town fire department was able to put out the fire and save a lot of the home.
The brave attempt to rescue their neighbour resulted in the RCHA silver medals for Jieyong and Araja.
