A man has been arrested in Saskatchewan in connection with a series of break-ins at Tim Hortons restaurants across Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Mounties say a five-month investigation led to the arrest of the Medicine Hat man, Joshua Elliot Moose, 25, who is accused of burglarizing 17 Tim Hortons locations in the two provinces.

The break-ins occurred between June and October at multiple Alberta locations, including in High River, Brooks, Rocky Mountain House, Hanna, Vermilion, Strathmore, Rocky View County, Didsbury, two in Wetaskiwin, Stettler, and Drayton Valley.

Moose was taken into custody by RCMP last week outside of a hotel in White City, Sask., following an alleged burglary.

A search warrant was executed at his hotel room, vehicle, and Medicine Hat apartment. Officers seized a quantity of cash, burglary tools, and firearms.

RCMP also believes Moose was involved in similar crimes at Tim Hortons in Swift Current, Saskatoon, Indian Head, Maple Creek, and Kindersley in Saskatchewan.

Moose is facing 38 charges, including seven related to crimes in Saskatchewan, such as break-and-enter with intent to commit theft and possession of break-in tools. He also faces 31 charges related to the Alberta break-ins, including unsafe storage of firearms.

Moose was remanded and appeared in court in Regina on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
