Three Saskatchewan Party MLAs representing sections of the southwest were handed new portfolios this morning.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe announced his new cabinet, including Swift Current MLA Everett Hindley, Rosetown-Delisle MLA Jim Reiter, and Wood River MLA David Marit.

"This is a new beginning - a new government with a new mandate from Saskatchewan voters, and today we have a new cabinet," Moe said. "I know every minister is looking forward to taking on their new responsibilities, addressing the opportunities and challenges that face Saskatchewan."

Hindley was named the province's new Minister of Education as he trades chairs with Jeremy Cockrill, named Minister of Health, a position Hindley has held since Aug. 29, 2023.

Reiter was given a pair of positions, Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance. He's been the longest-serving cabinet minister overseeing seven previous portfolios since 2009.

Marit was made the Minister of Highways and the Minister of SaskBuilds and Procurement. The Wood River MLA previously served as the Minister of Highways and Infrastructure from Aug. 23, 2016, until Aug. 15, 2018, when he was named the Minister of Agriculture, a role he's held for over six years.
