With the holiday season just around the corner, there’s an opportunity to learn how to make a parol lantern at the Humboldt & District Museum on Saturday, November 16 from 5-6:30 pm.

A parol is a traditional Filipino lantern that is displayed during the Christmas season. Typically shaped like a star, the parol dates to the 1500s in Filipino culture.

Leo from Humboldt Ink will be volunteering his time to demonstrate how you can create your own parol lantern.

If a child is accompanying you, you’re asked to keep an eye out for them.

The event is free, and registration is required. For more information or to register, you can contact the Humboldt Museum at (306) 682-5226 or at info@humboldtmuseum.ca
