The Humboldt Royal Canadian Legion Branch #28 invites the public to participate in its annual Remembrance Day ceremony on November 11. The schedule for the event is as follows: 

  • 10:45 am – Gather in the lobby of the St. Augustine Church 

  • 10:55 am – Parade into the church 

  • 11:00 am – Last post – Two minutes of silence – Reveille 

  • 11:05 am - Remembrance Day Service begins (light lunch to follow at the Legion Hall) 

  • 2-5 pm – Social in Legion Clubroom and Museum Tours 

  • 3-515 pm – Entertainment in the Clubroom (featuring Shades of Blue & Friends 

  • 5:30 pm – Supper in the Legion Hall 

Supper tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children under 8. Tickets are available at the Legion Clubroom or by calling Ed Sokolan at (306) 231-7202. 

In Watson, The Royal Canadian Legion #272 hosts their Remembrance Day Program. 

  • 10:45 am – March down Main Street from the Post Office 

  • 11:00 am – Moment of silence followed by a remembrance of veterans, laying of wreaths, roll call of the Fallen, video, songs and prayer. 

Guest speaker will be Jena Warner, formerly of Watson. This will be followed by refreshments at the Civic Centre.  

In Wakaw, the service will be held beginning at 10:40 am at the Wakaw Rec Centre. A beef lunch will be available following the service at the Legion Hall.  

Remembrance Day Services will be taking place in other area communities where Legion Branches invite people to come out and spend time together in remembrance.
