Thanks to support provided by the Saskatchewan Health Authority this fall, two acute care hospital beds were donated to Carlton Trail College by the Humboldt District Health Complex. Worth approximately $15,000, the specialty bed donation enables the re-use of functional medical equipment, while supporting local healthcare training needs.

“The support of our local district hospital is welcomed and deeply appreciated as it helps to ensure our College has modern, durable equipment necessary to train the next generation of healthcare providers,” said Trisha Kurtenbach, Post-Secondary Programs Manager at Carlton Trail College. “These types of meaningful community partnerships make a world of difference to our students and, ultimately, to the communities they serve.”

“We are happy to partner with organizations such as Carlton Trail College. We are pleased that the older equipment can be re-used to support a local health care training institution when we have upgrades for our equipment,” said Brianne Ronvel, Clinical Services Manager at Humboldt and District Health Complex.

The beds will be used in the College’s Continuing Care Assistant programs to help students develop hands-on skills that will be used in their clinical placements and future careers.
