In this week’s OSY Klipper Report, we sat down with Cam Perlinger, a second-year player for the Klippers, and got a closer look at the unique situation having both him and his twin brother on the team.
Growing up with a twin can be a unique experience for anyone, but sharing the ice with one adds another level. "It's nice," Cam said, reflecting on his journey with his twin. "You have the same guy with you throughout all your hockey career, so it's nice. ." As brothers, they're no strangers to the occasional argument, though he notes, "We don't really fistfight anymore, but the arguments can get pretty heated."
Cam’s family seems to be all-in on hockey. Besides his twin brother, his sister is also a player. The holidays are always a hockey-centered affair in the Perlinger household, with everyone just needing to get a hockey stick.
Although home is Kindersley for him, he wasn't adverse to the idea of traveling to another team. When asked if he’d leave for an opportunity outside his hometown, he was quick to affirm, “Yeah, for sure.” He’s already had some experience playing away from home, having previously played AAA in Swift Current.
Next week, the other Perlinger twin will take the hot seat, giving us the other side of the coin.
