With the Remembrance Day long weekend right around the corner, there are plenty of fun events happening in the area.
Here are a few of the events going on over the next couple of days.
1. Poetry Cafe
The Strathmore Municipal Library is hosting its monthly 'Poetry Cafe' Friday night at 7 p.m.
Residents can read out their own poem, or a poem written by somebody else. There will also be snacks and drinks available for guests.
People are also allowed to bring a musical instrument to perform a song.
The event is free to attend with no registration needed.
2. Christmas in Hillview
Christmas comes early to Hillview Estates in Strathmore.
Starting at 3 p.m. Friday there will be a garage sale and Christmas market hosted by residents in the community.
The event will run through most of the weekend, ending on Sunday (Nov. 10) at 3 p.m.
The address is 1065 Hillcrest Manor.
3. Firefighter Storytime
The Chestermere Public Library is showcasing the stories of local firefighters in the community.
Kids will get to explore a firetruck and learn about fire safety through an interactive display.
The event requires no registration and will run from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday.
4. Christmas on the Air
Rosebud Dinner Theatre is hosting performances of their autumn show, Christmas on the Air.
The show is about a 1940s family-run radio station where young love sparks between the weather reporter and sound effects operator.
The spark is witnessed by the sound effect operator's parents who own the station, bringing a chaotic comedy experience for the live audience.
The event begins at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night, with a matinee show at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Tickets are available on the Rosebud Dinner Theatre's website.
