The Humboldt Broncos brought a split decision from the road back home after a pair of weekend games.
Boris Kofman secured a shootout victory for the Broncos on Saturday against the Millionaires in Melville. The Broncos were plagued by penalties leaving them in a couple 5 on 3 situations, but they powered through a penalty ridden affair that saw goaltender Brady Holtvogt shine turning away 31 of 33.
As much as their penalty kill was on point all night, the Broncos had to produce some offense against the relentless Mills’ attacks. Connor Miller got it going for the Broncos in the second.
Kye Benoche caught a rebound a made good of the opportunity for the Broncos second and tying goal.
On Sunday, the Broncos fell 4 -2 to the Kindersley Klippers who opened strong with a trio of goals.
Gabriel Fillion cut the lead to two in the second period only to watch the Broncos fall by 3 once again in the third.
Fillion scored his second of the night, but to no avail as the Broncos scoring night ended.
