Kindersley, Saskatchewan — The Kindersley Legion Branch 57 held its annual Remembrance Day service on Saturday, November 11, honouring veterans and those who served in Canada’s Armed Forces. The ceremony took place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where community members gathered to pay their respects.
The event began with a solemn wreath-laying tribute, acknowledging the sacrifices of soldiers who gave their lives in service to the country. Veterans, local dignitaries, and residents attended the service, creating a strong sense of community and shared remembrance.
Participants wishing to march met at the Kindersley Legion Hall at 10:15 a.m. The march proceeded to the church, where the formal service started at 10:45 a.m., leading up to a moment of silence at 11:00 a.m.
“Remembrance Day is a time for us to reflect on the bravery and sacrifices made by so many Canadians,” a spokesperson for the Kindersley Legion Branch 57 said. “We were grateful to see such a strong turnout from the community.”
After the ceremony, attendees returned to the Legion Hall for lunch. The gathering offered an opportunity for reflection and fellowship, helping to keep the memories and sacrifices of those who served alive for future generations.
