Wheatland County firefighters take part in live fire training

Earlier this month, Wheatland County firefighters completed their live fire training.

The members gathered at the Brooks burn tower for the program, which included search and rescue drills, forcible entry training, live vehicle fire scenarios, and ladder operations.

"This event was especially meaningful as it marked the final training assessments for new recruits, who are now fully certified and ready to serve our community after months of hard work and preparation," wrote the county in a Facebook post.

Firefighters also participated in two live search simulations which mimicked house fires with trapped victims.

Twenty-four firefighters took part in the training.
