Angolan authorities have arrested two more suspects in connection to the death of Beau Shroyer, a young American Missionary violently killed in late October.
Just over a week ago, Lakes Area Vineyard Church announced that Shroyer's wife, Jackie, had been arrested in connection to her husband's death.
"Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, I’m going to ask you to sit down, take a deep breath and remember that God is our ever-present help in times of trouble," said Pastor Troy Easton of Lakes Area Vineyard Church in a statement."Our grief and sadness have deepened immeasurably as we’ve learned that his wife, Jackie Shroyer, has been arrested in connection with his death."
According to Voice of America, Shroyer was stabbed in his car in a thicket on the outskirts of the municipality of Humpata, with Beau's wife, Jackie, allegedly being the mastermind behind all of it.
Three people, including Jackie and Bernardino Elias, who worked as a security guard and housekeeper for the family, are in custody, while a fourth suspect remains on the lam.
According to SIC, Jackie allegedly paid one of her guards $50,000 to kill her husband, as she was allegedly having an affair with Elias.
"It is suspected that passionate motives involving the mastermind and an employee of the family may be behind the crime," said SIC spokesman, Manuel Halaiwa. "There are strong suspicions here of a possibly romantic relationship in relation to the principal, in this case, and her accomplice, the citizen who was initially guarded through a private security company, but who after terminating his contract with this company was welcomed because he seemed to be a good person very close to the couple and was hired with another salary to serve the couple."
An American-made knife and four million and 500 thousand kwanzas were allegedly seized at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and SIC continues to work alongside the American embassy.
Before becoming a missionary, Shroyer worked as a police officer with the Detroit Lakes Police Department. He joined the team in 2013. Beau eventually shifted careers becoming a real estate agent before deciding in 2021 to relocate to Africa with his wife and their five children to become a first-time missionary.
